I took a long time, at first I was really sad and would have loved to tear open many exterior walls again. It's such a big difference between the floor plan and reality. And only now have I realized what is important to me in a house and what I didn't realize. But maybe in 5 years it will be different again and I will find it great, who knows. In the end, we were also limited by neighboring buildings etc. and as you already said, you don't want to sit in a glass house, but it is still a shame when you have to give something up just because the shape of the plot or the neighbor forces you to. And yes, our architect gave no input. And also showed no alternatives.

Thank you for the honest answer!
Would you ever build new again?
And is your partner feeling the same way as you?

Maybe it will calm you down a bit if I tell you that a house is not set in stone 1000%. So if in 2 years you realize that you can't live without a conservatory or that the 2 children's rooms are way too big and you need a sewing room, then you just tear down a few walls (just not the load-bearing ones, please, ) and put up new ones. Of course, it’s good that you’re thinking about everything now. I think that’s okay and especially the width of the windows is not unimportant. What you should do much more is look at examples of other rooms, houses, apartments and just measure. If you don’t know what you want based on examples right in front of you, it’s not important enough to you. Then let your husband choose. By the way, we have 2 windows in the guest bathroom. It is wonderfully bright and the guests love it. In fact, we have already been directly approached with the words “Your guest bathroom is nice, I’d like one like that too.” The windows have regular glass with opaque curtains. I didn’t want a small dark hole where you can’t turn around and see nothing. So I did it differently - the way I wanted.

May I ask which things those would be for you?

QUOTE]

These are things that do not occur at all in your planning. So it doesn’t help you if I write them here. With three children's rooms that we have, the requirements were quite different. I would have done the kids' bathroom differently in our case. Only I, my boys thought it was good as it is.
I think your plan is good and stick to it.
Everything fits!
Please don't question every detail. [ /QUOTE]

Oh how good that only Rumpelstiltskin and I know why I didn't believe your quote immediately. Besides, frosted glass is at least less dark than cocoa glass.

Does anyone know if window dimensions can still be changed after the building permit? For example, enlarging the WC window or widening a 1.76m window to 2.01m? I have no plans for that so far. But I would like to know what possibilities exist without obtaining a new permit. I'm especially interested in windows.
