We have 2.50m on the ground floor and the upper floor. I myself do not find it oppressive even in our ~65sqm open space. But we are also max. 1.75m tall.
It always depends on how the house is planned. In the last house, for example, we had suspended ceilings. The room height was between 2.50m and 2.55m. Because of that, the windows went up to the ceiling. (für Gardinen oder Rollos sehr unpraktisch) I mean, there are quite different possibilities.
That is more a matter of personal taste or what you want, can/want to afford, and what total height is allowed.
Our glass is already 2.89 m high.
With about 2.50 m raw height, approximately 2.20 m (depending on floor and ceiling construction) remain.
With a classic frame system, you also have to account for the frame (and possibly shading if not solved otherwise).
Roughly estimated, the maximum glass height is about 1.90 m.
Personally, I just like somewhat higher ceilings. But that also has some disadvantages...
I just edited my old post about interior doors. How tall are your doors?
With 2.89 m your ceilings are very high. Is the extra cost for something like that very high?
But it certainly looks great.
From our 2.55 m to the ceiling, probably only 2.20 m remain up to the ceiling, you mean? In our apartment we have 2.5 m from the laminate to the ceiling.
You probably mean that the window can be max. 2.20 m high including the frame?
It also always depends on how the house is planned. In the last house, for example, we had suspended ceilings. The room height was between 2.50m and 2.55m. Because of that, the windows went all the way up to the ceiling. (very impractical for curtains or blinds) I mean, there are quite different possibilities.
How do you handle that with electric blinds or roller shutters then? You need space above the window for the motor housing, right?

We are about the same height. I think I'll leave the ceiling height as is. But 2.13m high floor-to-ceiling windows and 2.01m high interior doors are definitely too small. How high are your windows and interior doors?
For example, we have so far chosen 1.26m height for the half-high windows. These are now at a sill height of 87cm. If I raise the floor-to-ceiling windows to 2.25m, for example, would you then raise the sill height of the half-high windows or leave the sill height as is and make the window dimensions taller? What sill height is normal for half-high windows?
Not only that. Large doors can make small rooms seem tiny. The same applies to windows. I am reading diligently and no longer want to comment on taste and design, but I find the direction of the discussion particularly dangerous as it collects opinions without looking at the basics. A plus-size lady wants to squeeze into a size 36 top. The recommendation that the color looks good doesn’t really serve a positive purpose here, it only confuses the original poster more, who then moves in the direction of "I want to have it." Anyone who needs space for their filing cabinets should take a look at their door. Happy Easter.
