See? If he had shown you the house in a 3D model, you would certainly have had more input and probably made a different decision. What I will never understand is that people full of enthusiasm still sign contracts in the model home park even though they have no clue about construction, expect the biggest and best-equipped house for the minimal budget, while they spend much more time informing themselves and meticulously checking emission values when buying a new car. Most people go into debt for several decades to build a house and then save money on a 3D model...
I admit that I also had almost no clue when I decided to build a house, but I was very clear about what I want and need. I measured window and door dimensions with friends or in the model home park if in doubt, but I definitely didn't decide based on photos in a forum!
As you correctly write, everything is subjective, so why keep asking here what window dimensions are recommended? Take and buy what you like. If a planner/architect or building supervisor objects, then go to the next one. I'm not building a "second-choice house" for so much money and annoying myself for a lifetime with decisions I didn't make or wasn't allowed to make.
And if none of this helps, then build your house in advance with Lego bricks to see the proportions or download freeware from the internet
