With us, it hangs directly on/in the fuse box. Have you planned access points for the internet? Even if the router is placed on the ground floor, maybe you should still set an access point on the ground floor? But I'm not a pro either, I leave that to my IT husband...

Do you have a photo of the fuse box for a better idea?
It's really great that your husband is knowledgeable.
Access Points doesn’t mean anything to me right now. Are those LAN sockets where the TV is planned or at the kids’ desks, for example?

I just found something about WLAN router storage if you don’t want cable clutter. Google keyword "Tiny Snowboard". Does anyone have that or made something like it themselves?

Whereas this is certainly not good for the Wi-Fi signal, as there is a cabinet door in front of it. Maybe I can nicely place it in the upstairs hallway. Hm.

If you want decent Wi-Fi throughout the whole house, you need to plan at least one Wi-Fi access point on each floor. Whether one is enough and where to place it needs to be considered based on the floor plan. Don’t forget coverage for the terrace and garden. Personally, I find access points on the ceiling the best and power them via POE. If you implement this consistently, you can put your router in the utility room and turn off the Wi-Fi there. For access points, I would choose Unifi.

For your network equipment, you need some space in the utility room. Either you nail the router, patch panel, and switch to the wall or use a Hager multimedia distributor. Personally, I always tend to go for a network cabinet.

Your electrical planning is still pending. For an access point, you need a power outlet and a network socket next to each other (I don't know the technical term for it, so the one where you plug in a LAN cable). As already mentioned, ideally under the ceiling and centrally located. Then you can connect devices there that basically distribute your Wi-Fi. A good point is outside: we have also planned an access point on the terrace. Unfortunately, I can't provide photos because we haven't moved in yet.

With PoE (Power over Ethernet) devices, you don't need an extra power outlet.
