Thanks for your input so far. What do you think of this draft? I hope you can see what I want. I left some breathing space and enlarged the hallway. I hope the new room for the kids' bathroom is enough for a tiled shower + bathtub. How many square meters does such a bathroom need at least?

Can do. I like it better than the architect's design, at least. The downside is that you always have to run through the bedroom and it takes forever just to go to the bathroom. Also, you probably only have small bathrooms that way. So no really large main bathroom with a tub, shower, and all the trimmings without feeling cramped. Unless you push the wall a bit more consistently towards the children's room. But be careful with the drainage above the living area.

Regarding moving the wall consistently: When does one ruin the children's room?

Do you have any other ideas?
Would you place the stairs differently on the ground floor? Has there been any gain with the stairs in the entrance area near the hallway?
We consider a generous L-shaped living area important. We have 4.50m width in the living/dining area and actually find that necessary. Upstairs, we definitely want a separate master bathroom accessible only to us; the children's rooms should be the same size and face south. They don't need to be that big, of course. Currently, they have become very large only because of the very important large living area for us. A walk-in closet is nice to have but not an absolute must.

Mh, one could probably try a few more things. But for that, you would need the complete site plan including the exact construction site with access, distances, and preferably the neighboring buildings - so everything. Also: How far would you be willing to go? Would a house with, for example, 9.5m x 11.5m also be conceivable? Or does it have to be a square?

Regarding your OG Post no. 37

I don't like the two bathrooms. The children's bathroom is okay (if the drainage works), but I find the main bathroom too cramped. A bathtub, shower, 2 sinks, toilet, and a cabinet for hygiene products should also fit.

The children's rooms are big. They can also be a bit smaller. A room is more often ruined by a bad layout than by size. For example, you open the door and you feel like you're running into the wardrobe. (That's why it is important here that a wardrobe of the right depth still fits behind the door)

Yes, I see the negative points like you.

We are willing to compromise and would also go rectangular for a better floor plan. I think it would also be possible according to the development plan. Would you have an idea for that?
