I believe the idea you need to let go of is that there is a perfect floor plan. There may be a perfect floor plan for you - but it doesn't fit everyone. I believe you always have to swallow one or the other toad. For you, that might be giving up the platform staircase (it doesn't hurt and won't bother you in the long run).
What helped us with our floor plan was to run through our routines, set priorities, and define what we like in our current apartment. But I am glad to hear that you are on the right track and your picture is becoming clearer!

Didn't we have a thread here recently about how to clean a laundry chute? My opinion on that: what is there to clean? As long as no mud-soaked pants or something like that are thrown down, I can't imagine how the pipe could get dirty.

Oh, I have to look for that thread. Well, I’m more thinking about my kids. I just hope they don’t get the idea to throw muddy stuff down there.

Regarding the stairs. There is also a U-shaped staircase where the steps get narrower and narrower. How do you clean the stairwell window then? I’m seriously asking.
Next to the stairs, the carport is being built. That’s why the window will be very high up. At least on the landing stairs, you can place a ladder.

I think with a bit of skill, you will be able to place a ladder there as well. We have roof windows above the stairwell - but there's always a solution for something like that.

How does he do that? Does it cost especially much because of a hazard surcharge?
