The roofer has received numerous defect reports. He had to come back numerous times and really take the time to fix everything. He simply has no desire to deal with us anymore. I have to beg him endlessly and he is massively hindering the other trades. In our wind regions, this storm bracing is not that important.

Hm well I can understand that neither the roofer nor you feel like continuing to work together, but I would really have the storm clips corrected right away. The climate is changing and eventually your house will get hit by a proper storm and then it's very annoying if the tiles fly off and you have water damage.

I can’t understand that at all. It says above that the roofer received numerous defect reports. And as a reward, you now want to spare him from installing the brackets? Then he even gains an advantage from his poor quality. He should be ashamed of delivering such bad work and humbly fix all the defects if he still has any shred of craftsman’s honor left.
