Except for Japan, I agree with you, no force on earth will get me back to Asia.

Exactly such statements are the problem why your statements are being discussed in this way. You want to express your point of view and instrumentalize this statement so that as much as possible of your achievements, your income, your living space, your travels, your equity, etc. come across. And then you wonder why this is being discussed and call it a envy debate. But it has nothing to do with that, most of the time it is just shaking heads because you have to brag about it like that. As if just owning it is not enough, you also have to show it and rub it in everyone's face. Not meant to be offensive, but I think that's how you come across not only to me. And in my opinion that is the main reason for statements like "Oh, you're just jealous" (not that this was said here directly).

My comparison referred to loans with different equity rates, not with the same ones. Because that is exactly what this discussion is about. If you calculate both with 30%, the joke of the discussion is gone ...

Huh??? Do you really mean that seriously? So if I drive a Kia (nothing against Kia!), take vacations on my balcony, build a 120sqm house... then I’m allowed to talk about it, otherwise not. Incredible... I have nothing more to say about that. Except: you are so typically German. Show me the posts where I’m boasting about it? Luckily, I have many people around me (with very high and very low incomes) who don’t "tick" like that but with whom you can also have a very relaxed conversation about income or holiday destinations.

I don’t understand anyway why income and money are always supposed to be such an unpleasant topic. I don’t jump on this money-whining bandwagon because everyone is on it. When people collectively complain about money again, I like to jump to the other extreme and say how good we have it. Because we do, even without a monster income. Status symbols? I’m different there. If I happen to love BMW, then I drive a cool BMW because it makes me happy (Bsp)! For that reason and only that reason. And if Steffen likes to vacation in Asia and drives an Audi, then I say: cool nonsense, buddy! Let me test drive it
