Even though I know what you want to say with that, the statement is incorrect from a business management perspective.

Definition of equity: it is the part of a company's assets that remains after all debts and liabilities have been deducted. Equity includes bank balances, shares, and also real estate.

Shares are a long-term investment and should not be sold hastily as this can lead to losses. Therefore, it is important to consider how much equity you want to contribute before buying. We also did that when buying the property. We pay for the property entirely from equity.

Thank you very much for the input.

I have now gone into the race with 10% equity, 3% repayment, and 15 years.

Money for the investments and about 20-30K reserve will be taken out of the market by timely liquidation (right now it is going down a bit, greed says I should wait a little longer...)

That way I can still sleep well.

As I said, stocks are a long-term investment and, in my opinion, you should not speculate that it will get better in the short term if you need the money in the foreseeable future. Leave the greed out of it, sell on Monday, and look forward to the house. That is at least my opinion.

If a stock market crash occurs, diversification won’t help you either.

But when it comes to private house construction, we are not dealing with a company. And therefore, equity… I can gladly copy it: As equity counts the money from a construction financing that does not come from the bank, but comes from one's own assets.
