Immediate Application and Approval Stop

[*]The federal funding for efficient buildings (BEG) from KfW has been subject to a provisional program stop with immediate effect as of today (24.01.2022). This was jointly decided last weekend by the KfW Board of Management after consultation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
[*]The enormous influx of applications in recent weeks, which has gained significant additional momentum in the past few days, has led to the exhaustion of the budget funds allocated by the federal government for the federal funding for efficient buildings (BEG); therefore, the program had to be stopped, also in view of the provisional nature of budget management. Between November 2021 and today alone, applications with a funding volume of over 20 billion euros have been received by KfW.
[*]BMWK and KfW will promptly decide on the handling of the outstanding applications that have not yet been approved, as well as on possible alternative funding offers.

In this respect, many questions about whether KFW 55 funding can still be applied for until the end of the month are probably resolved.
A decision on a new budget must now be made. Likewise, whether and how funding will continue. However, experience shows that this will take several months.

Well, I think the amount of funding is exaggerated anyway. It directly affects the construction costs 1:1 (or even more). In this respect, I hope for a normalization or a focus on truly efficient measures.

As if anything in construction becomes cheaper just because the client no longer receives anything from the state.

I find it quite sensible that they want to change something again. But such a drastic change over the weekend is absolutely not acceptable!

Just imagining that everything was finished over the weekend and you want to send it off this morning… “Sorry, nah.”

It has been apparent for some time that building a house is a luxury and no longer has anything to do with the normal middle class and two earners.

The trend is now accelerating once again. Make sure you inherit well.

I consider it wishful thinking that prices will now fall due to the elimination of the subsidy. In fact, building a house is becoming sharply more expensive again. Unless you had already built to minimum standards. But reaching today's KfW55 standard is now only a matter of time.
