Publicly funded renovation measures cannot be deducted from taxes (as craftsman services).
An energy consultant would be useful, as only they can calculate exactly which measures would be necessary to reach, for example, the KfW 100 standard (which we did). Individual measures are unfavorable because stricter limits must be met. For a KfW renovation loan for a KfW 100 house (as an example, for old buildings I believe KfW 110 or so is also possible, at least it was back then) it is different: if you perform worse in one area, you can make improvements in another. For example, if due to a missing roof overhang insulation cannot be done with the required thickness, you simply take better windows than required and the overall value balances out again. Individual measures must also, as far as I remember, be carried out by professional companies and you need an official confirmation from the company for each individual measure. With the overall standard, you can also do everything yourself and do NOT need such confirmation for every p***.
You need the energy consultant anyway, as only they can submit the application and issue the corresponding confirmations for the application/at completion. For me, everything together cost about 200 euros, absolutely not a representative value, as our energy consultant practically did it as a hobby on the side.
The paperwork effort, collecting the documents, is enormous. There is time pressure (everything must be completed within 3 years). The costs for the energy consultant can be subsidized.
