Why do you have to take away my joy so quickly....man oh man.........in the end it might be quite simple and then it’s fine. It will always be a balance of many areas and I can imagine a similar version just as well as something craft-wise high-quality and therefore expensive. In the end, I then have to remove something else from the priority list. This brainstorming is always important to me so that I feel like I have thoroughly considered the possibilities.
Often, I then end up satisfied with something very simple again, the main thing being that I’ve taken some crazy rounds. We’ll see.......

The art is to find a staircase that can also be built like that. I have been working on the staircase+railing for about 5 weeks. Most pictures from the internet are either not feasible or you pay a fortune! I really like the staircase from , but it would be too "cold" for my living area.

I had already saved this picture of yours at the time. I really like it, even though in our case it won’t be a straight staircase due to the floor plan restrictions.
Now I am waiting for the staircase builder's answer and then we will continue to work on it.
We originally wanted glass at the top of the balustrade as well, but in the meantime we decided against it and opted for a light-looking steel railing, also along the staircase.
The staircase is located in the middle of the open space along the long side, and the room is not very wide. Therefore, we have the feeling that glass would rather "close off" the room there. It would be different in the hallway.

"taken some crazy laps"

I consider that - a sensible decision - to be the best method. First of all - without limits and above all without financial worries - let all ideas come.

You can "turn down" later

That's right. Therefore, I also have to wait to see what is technically feasible, affordable by our suppliers, and ultimately payable for us. It will be somewhere in between. If the staircase were in the hallway, I would definitely choose a simple and also inexpensive version; but since it stands in the middle of the living space, it holds a different value for us.
