BG Bau is sending us a high bill - can I defend myself against it?

To my knowledge, close family members are not insured through BG Bau. Therefore, I would also not pay anything for the 50 hours of the father.

Now don't confuse him. These are completely different data than when the construction was actually carried out. You call directly before you get cold feet.

Thank you very much for your answers... I will call tomorrow right away and try to clarify that. I will let you know how it turned out.

It will go like this: someone will come for inspection, you show them your contract and tell them that there was almost no El available and that if you did any yourself, and if you have settled any invoices, it will work out. The matter is quickly resolved; when he is there, you can immediately inform him of the completion.

PS. you don't have to pay anything for your father, that's a stupid habit from them.

All experienced firsthand and we even built ready to move in.

Hello TobiRoxy

Such forms always come from BG Bau. First you have to fill them out, then a big invoice follows. And they are not stingy.
You can take out insurance with them for yourself at exorbitant prices, but you don’t have to. For helpers you have to (if you declare them) take out insurance at the same prices. If you didn’t have any, that’s settled. The estimate is just a rough guess plus a good surcharge. Maybe you disposed of the letter without reading it carefully, or it simply got lost.
I also lean towards the tip to call, explain that only you work there occasionally, otherwise only commercially, and suggest that they send the letter to you again. The current invoice should be canceled and wait until the new form is filled out by you (of course very promptly) and received by them.

Hello everyone,
a couple of weeks have now passed since the matter with [BGBau] and, as you advised me, I called them and clarified the situation. I had to fill in and send the missing information, the employee on the phone was also quite nice and told me the reason for the many hours... it was a pure estimate, so nothing at all connected to reality.

Since I haven't heard anything from [BGBau] since then, I think the matter is settled for me (until the next form arrives).

We thank you very much for the help and wish you a nice weekend.

Best regards
TobiRoxy
