The savings with fixed glazing are small compared to the house price. And just imagine if something catches fire ...

Did I write unclearly? Even with controlled residential ventilation, one will want to ventilate manually; there are many reasons: Cooking odors after cooking Overheating caused by the sun in winter Smell of glue from new furniture Party in the house Forgetting to take out the trash Controlled residential ventilation does not handle any of this; for that, opening the windows for 5 minutes helps. I am also a fan of controlled residential ventilation, but things have their limits...

That probably applies to most "details" when considered separately from the rest.

However, I find it quite significant. After all, you not only save the sashes but also, for example, all the RC-related stuff. You can easily save €1000 and more per element. The larger window area and the nicer view come on top.

We will have a lot of fixed glazing. But that does not change the safety issue. It is only somewhat cheaper with fixed glazing. Nevertheless, we have enough and large openings to ventilate manually. Our controlled residential ventilation system is very large in capacity and also designed for active cooling, so that the examples mentioned by Bookstar regarding the controlled residential ventilation could be handled quickly. Even a controlled residential ventilation system with standard design exchanges the air faster than ventilation. Openable elements are often desired for psychological reasons as well. Our guest room will not have an openable window. My wife was absolutely against it even though one wall is completely glazed. A good tip was to consider cleanliness. If it is hard to reach, it is better to install an openable element.

You don't really believe that nonsense yourself, do you? I can achieve 0.3 air changes in less than 5 minutes if I throw open all the windows.
