Thank you very much for the tips and opinions!
Then ask at what finished parapet height these are no longer considered as a step. And thus a fall protection can end at a height of 90 cm above the finished floor level?
I had the same idea last night because of your inquiry... I asked around but have not received a definitive answer yet. It will probably be around 50 cm above finished floor level, I think.
What is your concern? Real safety or a code-compliant acceptance of the most attractive option?
The latter. Our son pushes chairs anyway when he wants to climb somewhere, so I’m fully with you on that.
We therefore split the floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper floor. The lower part is fixed glazed and only the top opens. It also has the advantage that you can still open the windows when something is standing in front of the bottom. Especially in the children's room, that is worth its weight in gold... ;-)
The issue with the arrangement is true. But we currently have such windows in our apartment and are not so happy with them. The problem is that the horizontal bar is exactly at eye level when sitting and you always look right at this wide bar, which currently bothers us a lot. With the higher parapet height, the part to be opened would also be quite small. That did not please us much in the exterior view either.
