Hello,
I have to bring up this topic again. I have a similar problem with the same setup from the utility room (residential building) to the garage. Residential building and garage. Both building parts each have their own exterior walls and are separated by 10cm insulation. Both masonry structures are made of aerated concrete. The house is also located in Lower Saxony.
The connecting door is to be installed on the wall of the residential building and should open inward (utility room). I have understood that it must be a T30 door. The standard T30 doors, which are also available at hardware stores for example Hörmann, are not approved because they are only certified for sand-lime brick and concrete. It must be, for example, a Hörmann H3D-1 door. What I still have not found out (neither specialty retailers nor building authorities) is whether smoke protection is mandatory. Because that makes the door many times more expensive and additionally a top door closer must be installed here...
I spoke with Hörmann and was informed that the door must also be declared as an exterior door (for approval purposes, but it is the same door construction). However, in specialty shops, the door is not seen as an exterior door.
I am extremely confused and looking for clear statements.
What kind of door did you finally install?
