Then I misunderstood you there. To me it sounds like you either have it relocated or we won’t continue building (construction stop).

Sure, then all site inspections during the construction phase would have been for nothing. Afterwards, there is always the consideration of how high the damage is and whether a change is still justifiable. For example, now in the shell construction the repair costs 100 euros, later under plaster and paint it suddenly costs 3,000 euros. Function restriction yes or no. In the latter case, if you’re lucky you get a deduction of a few euros.

It wasn’t phrased that harshly. It was only said that the heating cannot be installed if I don’t reroute it. But they should first formally request that from me in writing, then I will clarify accordingly. The inspector is coming on Monday anyway.

There are ongoing problems with the sanitary rough installation. I have criticized that my fine installer for sanitation complains that the rough installer only installed a 16mm or 17mm supply line from the shower valve to the Hansgrohe Axor head construction (26l at 3 bar). Even after repeated requests for correction, he insists that it is sufficient as executed. I just got confirmation from the company Hansgrohe that a 20mm line is required.

I also called Keuco and inquired about the same question regarding the waterfall shower. A callback is pending...

However, I will not initiate a construction stop here either but will point out that based on the manufacturer’s statement I still assume it has been incorrectly executed and will accordingly question the later acceptance.

So a construction stop would probably not be really effective anyway. But as others have already told you, you also have to put your foot down sometimes. As has already been shown to you here, the supply lines will not be corrected now, then it may happen that this is later perceived as an unreasonable change because one might then have to remove tiles etc. However, it may, without me being able to say this precisely for the case here, perhaps only be a functional limitation of the shower which, however, does not justify the effort involved.

Yes, how should I bang on the table?? I am not a judge who can prove whether they are right or the other people. In the end, only an expert can clarify that, not me.

Well, if you have the confirmation from HansGrohe that a 16mm or 17mm pipe is not sufficient, and a 20mm pipe must be installed, then I would present this confirmation at the appropriate place. Have you hired the plumber? If not, then go to your site manager. As I said, it can still be easily fixed now. Later, it may only be possible with disproportionate effort.

What does a confirmation mean? The man said that on the phone. It is not their task to send written confirmations to end customers and even if it were, it wouldn’t have expert quality.

However, I passed on the statement as is, with the note that I will check the water pressure in detail during acceptance and, if necessary, will not be satisfied with a discount. I can’t do any more than that. If one then doesn’t understand that one should check their work again for 100% accuracy, I can’t change that either.

Of course, I also included the effort. Therefore, I don’t understand the fuss about the few hoses.

Why go to the site manager? That’s the one I’ve been confronting with it the whole time. Management in copy.

The new expert is coming Monday. I will explain it to him and ask for advice on whether it is immediately advisable to involve a sanitary expert at cost or how he assesses it.
