I pinged the robber today that he was being missed here, and in the meantime received a private reply. Accordingly, I only want to quote his closing words:

Except for this madness, I am doing well.

The main point is that the series of defects does not stop; now, among other things, the connection points between the general contractor and self-assigned trades are, I’d say, "problematically tolerant" :-(

To be honest, I am glad that he is healthy and well. I had real concerns.

Then he should really conserve his strength as much as possible and also save here for now. And then hopefully everything will turn out well in the end. If he is reading along: Best wishes from me as well.

Räuber, keep your chin up

Hopefully you can enjoy your house and garden next year

I also informed the "Räuber" today that he is missed here. He had visited us at the construction site and I also visited him at his construction site. First of all and contrary to some speculations here, he is a clever guy and also very pleasant as a person. This shows how the anonymity of the internet in forums sometimes leads to putting people in the wrong category.

He appreciated the sympathy here, especially since things are going really badly for him at the construction site right now. And the problem is not the subcontractors, but the preparatory work of the general contractor on which the subcontractors are supposed/must build. They sometimes refuse to work because they would make themselves liable (e.g. a totally crooked concrete staircase with very uneven step heights, crooked walls, etc.). We already had a lot of trouble with our construction, but compared to the Räuber, that's all minor. You can really feel sorry for him, a lot is really going wrong and experts and lawyers are making good money from it. At the same time, he is currently facing strong professional demands, but he doesn't lose courage.
