The door must not only be fire-retardant – which would be cheaper, says the architect – but it must also be smoke-retardant.
Comparing a door costing 400 euros with an RC2 secured door including alarm functions does not help me. Even if such a door were permissible, it would not be effective, since this critical point requires a high level of security for our subjective sense of safety.
Of course, one can do without the RC2 status and instead secure the garage door and gates with RC 2, 3, 4, or whatever else, but I strongly doubt that this is more economical. I will discuss this again with my wife on Sunday. However, I assume that we will forgo the door given the costs. Even a door without any extras like alarm system integration etc. (except RC 2) is charged by the provider at over € 2,000. To be honest, I also do not feel comfortable with two accesses, each with separate alarm system controls. I can't really say why, but that's how it is.
I therefore assume that the matter with the door is settled.
