Then there was also a discussion between the site manager and the electrician, where the electrician said that someone needed to explain to him why a garage door can only be adjusted once he has installed the socket. He had never heard that in all these years. Any door can be adjusted manually. The site manager said, well, that's just how they do it.
That doesn’t make sense to me either, but maybe I just didn’t understand exactly what they want to adjust? Sure, learning an electrically operated door to a stop point only makes sense with power. But on our doors, the drive and power were deliberately NOT connected so that the door can be opened by hand if any tradespeople want to go through. And so that remote controls don’t get lost among the constantly changing tradespeople and workers ... And so that the drive isn’t damaged if workers without a remote try to open it.
But I guess every site manager has his own philosophy. In any case, our door is "set" so that it opens and closes quietly and evenly, has a mechanical stop, etc. The only thing missing is the electrics. In that respect, I can understand your electrician’s statement.
