It’s about the entire house. The living room etc. still needs to be furnished.

That was what my wife wanted. Personally, I don’t care where they hang.

Due to the noise situation, we decided on push-to-open doors. We also have a sliding door between the dressing room and the bedroom, which you can still hear a bit, even though it is solid and made with good rollers etc. Therefore, I also think that an open dressing room with sliding door cabinets won’t be so great if someone wants to sleep. Our dressing room is also custom-made by a carpenter and was only a little more expensive than Pax furniture. But it is ceiling-high with clothes lifts and fittings tailored to our needs (drawers for scarves, belts, socks, etc. etc.) Also very stable and high-quality – even the back walls were made from plates almost 1 cm thick. Regarding your approach: I would set up a smaller wardrobe (if there is space) in the bedroom, which is for the person who gets up later. Then one side of the dressing room can be reduced a bit. As an idea somewhat like this: On the right side, for example, only about 1 m high dressers to put things on + maybe leave space on the side for a small bench and hooks for clothes above it.

We are not doing a sliding door; I already said that.

The bedroom is very tight – I don’t see more than an existing dresser in there. At first we thought we had a big house, but it turned out to be rather small here and there. It really can’t be any smaller.

Hello you have over 200 m2 of living space, that is not small but a huge house!

Let's put it this way. Downstairs it is very spacious. The children's rooms are very generous. The entire parents' area turned out to be relatively small. Indeed, you can't really speak of a dressing room there but only of an "area" for wardrobes. And when I think about the hassle in the bathroom, that you need special built-in accessories to get past between the shower and the washbasin, it seems big at first glance in terms of m² but maybe not ideal in terms of layout. Well, no big deal. It will be solved.

So you have a 14m² bedroom and almost 10m² of dressing room and you still can't manage? Then you should question your planning. We have a 15m² bedroom, even with a slanted ceiling in a small part, and have managed to fit everything in there. Winter clothes or summer jackets are stored according to the season.

So you probably ended up with a general contractor who makes a lot of mistakes, but in some areas you are also making it difficult for yourselves. Of course, the layout of a room plays a significant role, but with these sizes you should be able to fit more than one dresser next to the bed without any problems in the bedroom. Or is the room so awkwardly shaped? That would then again be a matter of planning.
