Well, don’t get hung up on the 50 seconds. You can probably make 3 minutes out of it. I don’t think the OP has a problem here if the system isn’t armed immediately. It’s hardly likely that a burglar would try to break in through the door and bypass the system within those 3 minutes before the homeowner arrives, only to end up face to face with the homeowner inside.

The 50 seconds is an example. They can also program 2 minutes or 1 hour. I think it just needs to be consistent.
