I drove by again and took a look.

Attached is a photo of the pipe in the children's room, a photo of the same pipe in the guest WC below, and a photo from outside of the relevant spot of the building.

The thing about the ventilation sounds plausible.

Do you think it was unavoidable to plan it that way?

I will note the soundproofing.

One more thing. Can material be added to the 11.5 cm sand-lime brick wall in the master bathroom so that the wall can be used to install a built-in mirror cabinet there? Next to the toilet there is still room for at least 5 cm. The only question is whether something like that is technically possible and if so, how. I have seen such great built-in mirror cabinets and hope that it is feasible.

We implement this with drywall construction. You need at least 15cm depth for the cabinet. That’s by far the most expensive feature in the bathroom ...

Yes, what can you do. I don't find such a recessed mirror cabinet very nice. It would be a last resort.

I saw 15cm depth in the specifications for the cabinet. The question is how much clearance you then need in the wall itself. The wall is 110cm wide and I don't think you can push all the way to within 1-2cm to the back so that it still holds. The wall would have to be extended anyway so that it fits and holds. Probably with drywall, I think. How do you connect something like that to the [Kalksandsteinwand] so that it is suitable for such a mounting and meets the structural requirements? If we can manage that, we can finally make peace with the bathroom. It would be great to remove all the utensils from the visible area; that would even be better in the end than the original version with the boxing and the open shelf.

I am speechless about both the surface-mounted variant of the drainage and the pipe routing in the WC on the right in the picture. What kind of artwork was that supposed to be??? Have you ever contacted RTL in Cologne? They always have these botched construction shows, maybe such an inquiry will give your general contractor a nudge...

In every third thread here, old users warn about the pitfalls of drainage. You don’t have to play clueless now if you underestimated it before.

But no one underestimated the slot guide in the guest bathroom wall, which was inspired by a lightning bolt.
On the contrary: acrylic glass must be applied over the plaster, then you can brag about it as an art patron *LOL*
