What exhaust hole? We only planned a recirculation hood. But since the cabinet probably won’t fit where it should go underneath, it’s up in the air what we’ll end up with.

That was once a thought.

But the kitchen is ordered as posted.

I think so too by now. Best if we don’t spend much more money now on the planned bathroom fixtures, garden, etc., but just do minimal style. We are fed up. Better to keep renting than to put oneself through something like this.

Maybe we’ll even find someone who’s eager to buy the building in its current state. I need to think it over with my wife for a day or two.

I can now sign off on all of that.

I don’t think we’ll build a second time. Better to rent and move out if you don’t like something anymore. Something like this ruins my health!

The yellow marked one in the execution plan. Ordered before all surfaces were completed and final actual measurements could be taken? - I think that's madness. Completely wrong. First, finish it and rent it out. Preferably to a manager who moves to Japan in three years or so. In the meantime, gain distance from the building troubles. Then move in yourself and write down all the things to do differently next time that you notice and realize. Then plan the second house and in the end move there with a little tear (because the problem favorite neighbor has biologically resolved itself).

No, we will not do that. We wanted to build where the children are small. If we build and they move out 10 years later, then it's pointless, because after 10 years the house suddenly becomes too big again. We are definitely not building anymore.

The contract was signed. Not ordered. I expressed myself incorrectly.

The construction period is an extremely tough time, don’t fool yourself. I have talked to many people and experienced it myself. Even the bravest man sometimes cries like a big baby. I don’t know how much hair I’ve lost and the rest turned gray afterwards. Despite the site manager and good companies!!

I still wouldn’t throw in the towel now. Later on, you take all the trouble calmly and aren’t as critical anymore.

At first, such pipes are annoying, but you can still live well with them.

So I have to chime in here after all...

yes, a few things went wrong with this build, but if you have only seen a single episode of Pfusch am Bau, THEN you know what botched construction really is.

I totally understand how you feel, but you need to stop thinking like that right away, otherwise you’ll ruin yourself.

And guys, I also don’t think it’s okay to already talk about renting or selling.... what exactly went so wrong with the dream house that it has to go?

Did I miss something in the last 136 pages?

Make sure to finish the whole thing as well as possible and just accept that nothing ever runs perfectly, even though that is often claimed here. It’s always easier to talk about it in hindsight....

I know X people who, just like you, mainly dealt with what kind of flooring they wanted, and everything went well for them too. Not everyone feels like reading into everything and not everyone ends up falling flat on their face....

Is your house wet? If not, then I advise you to make peace with the things that went wrong at some point and focus on what went well!

I know so many people with severe defects...... watch a few episodes of the aforementioned show, then you’ll feel better!

No, 100% smooth is more of a utopia.

However, why should I always look where it’s even worse.
It would annoy me a lot – however, I don’t have all the pages in my head – pipes drawn in the plan at strange spots would probably have been noticed immediately.

Of course, you can get used to [ner Abkofferung], and if I buy a house like that, it might surprise me and I overlook it, or I don’t care. But if I built the house and didn’t want it like that, it will annoy me every time I look at it...
