It's a pity that you were so poorly advised on such a project. We had the architect of the general contractor present in the 2nd planning meeting, who explained everything to us and also planned the windows as we wanted. During the shop drawing planning with the site manager, it was then decided which window should go where. So fixed glazing, tilt or tilt-and-turn. Whether a bar should be in the middle of the double-wing windows, etc. Then the glazing, e.g. in the bathroom with frosted glass, and the barrier-free access at the terrace... Of course, aluminum windows or plastic, wood/aluminum and which color were discussed. The smallest detail then were the handles. Our front door also has a different size than the windows, wider and higher. But you have to move in with that as well. I would attribute your view on the windows to the architect of the general contractor. He is actually responsible for such things. And it was made clear in the 1st meeting who has which task in the company and in the construction process!
