There are special curtains for that.
But of course it remains the nature of the construction site that there are more crumbs there than under the sofa

Unlike the general contractor, whom you still must not let off the hook. Therefore, advice is that the apology (along with active remorse until everything is nice again) should clearly (also) come from the general contractor.

That can’t happen either. He will have to pay for the bushes. Or rather, probably the earthworker.

We have also experienced that construction workers hammer into nature like a bull in a china shop. I told my general contractor and the site manager more than three times that the rear area of the garden is off-limits for the construction workers and that they should unload the excavation material at the front of the property. The excavator came, and its very first official act was indeed to spread the excavation material all over the entire rear area. I was speechless.

Since then, for larger projects, I basically cordon off everything with white/red tape wherever they are not allowed to go. That works! Trees are protected with boards, and bushes are enclosed with barrier tape. There is no other way. I can only recommend it.

The neighbor is complaining again. Unfortunately, the construction company has apparently not fulfilled its commitment to restore and mark the property boundary yesterday. Sad.

It would be unfortunate if one had to resort to a substitute performance because of such a matter. I hope they now use the renewed deadline to restore the property boundary by the end of the day.

Otherwise, probably only a substitute performance remains.

Oh that is really annoying. Although your neighbor seems to be a special one. Heaven, there is construction, the new neighbor is making an effort, the child has fallen into the well, do I still have to be so petty now? You will probably have to put a lot of pressure on your GU or you have to fix it yourself.

...and I thought that only things go wrong with us [emoji57] Finding a (also humanly good) shell builder seems really more difficult than expected. Sometimes real abysses open up. Example: Our first shell builder is out, he has shone with half a year of inactivity and delayed wherever he could – and on top of that arrogant and conceited. The problem is always the others. Anyway, termination agreement offered, he wanted to have it, but dictated to us that he still wants a high 4-figure amount, if we do not agree, he would delay the construction with addendum after addendum. With a big grudge, we agree. One might think, “write it off and forget about it.” Not so with that a**hole. He actually calls our new shell builder on his own to badmouth us and our architect and to warn him. Really bad kind of person – just a detached project manager in a larger construction company. Only stupid that our new shell builder has already worked several times with our architectural firm and there were never any problems, quite the opposite. But how abysmally nasty must the character be to act like that? Our new shell builder, on the other hand, is a stroke of luck. A family-run craft business without a big bureaucracy, who just want to live their craft and build. They have already advanced more in fourteen days than the predecessor in 6 months! Incredible... Good luck getting your general contractor back under control. But I also agree with , your Mr. Neighbor could be a bit more relaxed. The faux pas will be corrected and it’s fine. The problem is not that something goes wrong, but how you deal with it. And here you have already shown the will to fix (have fixed) the mishap. Some people just don’t need to be understood...
