Why don't the ceiling outlets match the stucco moldings? Are the outlets positioned so close to the corner? Was the positioning of the in- and outlets not discussed with you?
We only came up with the idea of the stucco moldings later. By then, the lighting planning and execution were already finished. The distances to the wall without moldings are okay but borderline with moldings. Therefore, I think it would be best for home builders to involve an interior designer overall, to coordinate all such things. We have now engaged an interior designer for some general tasks far too late and basically see what could have been possible....... now it will be more than just a few customized solutions and individual drywall components.
For example, it also turned out that the wardrobe will have custom-made cabinets. Two ceiling spots therefore become obsolete. Instead, a power outlet on the left side of the plan would have been good to control a mirror planned there with indirect lighting on the outside. That’s the kind of thing an interior designer plans.
For us, the world isn’t ending now, but for ambitious builders at an earlier stage, the tip is to involve an interior designer early on and not let all kinds of trades plan things in isolation. That backfires if you want it customized and are not experienced in the field yourself.
Also, things like what happened with the bathroom wouldn’t have happened, where in the end we were barely able to achieve a halfway acceptable solution (I hope).
But as I said; that’s why the house is not a disaster.
What kind of outlets are so close to the wall? You had those spots as accent lighting, right?
These are the normal ceiling spots as recessed lights. In some areas, they are very close to the wall.
