The general contractor would correct the base waterproofing upon request and carry it out according to DIN. However, he says he cannot then guarantee that it will be watertight and that I would have to sign this as well. I don’t understand why one should have to sign something when it is carried out according to DIN.
Currently, it is executed that way.
The expert says he officially cannot approve leaving the execution as it is. I explicitly asked him how he would do it if it were his house and he were in my place. He says it would then be worth considering retaining the non-DIN compliant execution for the sake of the construction process if I am granted a 15-year warranty, which would be possible.
I am now completely uncertain about what to do.
Regarding the windows, as expected, he does not want to comment. He says the current threshold height from the raw floor to the terrace doors, which is currently about 36-38 cm, will indeed be reduced to 15 cm after the screed and floor buildup are installed. This is due to raw construction tolerances, screed tolerances, and a meter crack (?), which the craftsmen orient themselves to.
I had always assumed 16 cm screed and maybe 1-1.5 cm parquet and that would be it.
The expert believes these are made-up excuses and he cannot imagine the threshold of 15 cm will really be reached.
Today, I asked the expert again about the plaster. He says a higher-quality execution is only advisable in connection with a thermal insulation composite system. In my case, the standard execution is sufficient.
