My wife sees it all much more relaxed and is naive about it. Kind of like, it will work out..... in other words, no, she can’t help me.

I’m just trying to make the best out of it now. That’s why I sometimes just brush off statements that say the planning was wrong from the start. I can’t start the construction over and have to make the best out of what’s given. The problem I actually have isn’t the pressure but the time to really get into various things intensively. That’s probably why a carpenter’s solution for the cabinets is out of the question. I want to go somewhere, touch something, configure and order.... with a carpenter I’m starting at square one, I need a detailed bill of quantities for materials, adhesives, etc. – I don’t have the energy for that.

Maybe we’ll postpone minor things like the cabinet for now or just order one, see how the room feels, and then order something for the other side....

Well, poorly put: You probably have cabinets now. So they come along first and later a complete solution for the dressing room will be decided. One less point of stress. Please take care of yourself and you all, okay?

Yes. The solution is simple: accept things and also accept that as an inexperienced layperson you haven’t planned everything optimally. It will work out.

How wide is the dressing room exactly (raw measurement), I haven't read that here yet.

Best regards

You can also move with the existing furniture; you currently have a wardrobe anyway.

If it doesn’t fit there space-wise, it can possibly be placed temporarily in a child’s room (there should still be one free?). That will give you some time.

Believe me, I was insane. I wanted to have moved before Christmas, be completely set up AND have new decorations. All at once. Ideally including curtains.

Today we finally ordered our new coat rack. There is still a construction lamp hanging in the living room because although we have a clear idea, we haven’t found our desired one in reality and at an acceptable price. By the way, only one single picture is hanging so far, I haven’t even looked for curtains anymore, as I am currently (still?) quite taken with the curtainless windows. This can go on indefinitely.

Of course, you have to make sure that the purely temporary solutions gradually disappear. But doing everything at once only works if you can delegate about 98% of it...

By the way, for us the best solution was to first take only one row of wardrobes in the dressing room instead of two rows 60 cm (?) deep Pax. Opposite the row stands an old sideboard. This will be thrown out soon, then a new chest of drawers will come. Additionally, we are taking a bench with some storage space for the bathroom. That this would be the best solution for us actually only became clear after the move and living IN the house and with roughly new habits.

Exactly the approach we want to follow now. Also, things like the bathroom mirror can be put aside for the time being since the KS wall remains. We will do it just as you described. The existing wardrobe will then go to the children's room or the basement (where it could stay permanently). It doesn't fit in the dressing room.

The dressing room is 2.51m wide, if I interpret the execution plan correctly.

According to Hülsta, it would look like this with two wardrobes. Quite tight. Especially since there would be no space to put things down (e.g., a chair), let alone to place a laundry ottoman.
