For me, that would be the killer argument against the intermediate door, and I would set the garage higher (and then rather chamfer a bit at the garden-side garage door). So maybe about 20 cm higher than currently planned.
According to current knowledge, the intermediate door will rather not be realized. Because I was already told that it does not work without a noticeable step. And I still see the problem more as a security risk than the advantage of direct access to the house. I have no problem going around the front. Even in rain, because it is covered. Thanks to your valuable tip about the lintel preparations and the aerated concrete blocks, we are keeping that option open! This will still be incorporated into the construction contract (the door will also be included as an option, but the probability that it will actually be commissioned in the end is perhaps around 25%). However, the builder asked why it should specifically be aerated concrete blocks. He could not explain it.
If your aforementioned proposed change becomes relevant; is something like that even possible after the building application has been sent or later approved? I was told that moving windows etc. is not an issue even after that, as well as the decision for or against the intermediate door in the garage. It would still be interesting to know how it looks now with a matter like the chamfering.
