I will now once again show some photos of our garden, which is not yet a garden. This year we will start with the garden layout. The starting signal will be the delivery of the cistern, which will take place as soon as the weather permits. Our garden planning was delayed because we decided at short notice to have a well drilled, which took place in November instead of July as originally planned. We will now also create a natural swimming pond.
Yesterday I ordered seeds of the "Mexican Honey Tomato," botanical name "Solanum lycopersicum." Does anyone know them? It is said to be the sweetest tomato in the world. If anyone has experience with it, I would be happy to receive feedback.
About the photos:
- We found that in our case it would have been sensible to buy the paving stones for the outdoor area first and then decide on the color of the facade. Now they don't really match, but we will get used to it. I assumed there would be a huge selection of paving stones, which only applies if you stay within the grey/anthracite/white world. We did not want to travel abroad just for the paving stones.
- As is known, we received the information on the evening before the sample selection that our house would become more expensive by a high five-figure amount, which is why we initially panicked and cut out many things that are now missing from the exterior of the house and that we will retrofit later. (Trims, shutters, etc.)
- The garage will still be painted in the color of the house.
- We could not find a professional who would have designed paths, driveway, etc. in a semicircular way according to our wishes, so my husband did it himself. He cut most of the stones by hand himself.
- We would have liked the trellises to the right of the car parking space to be designed at the height of our garage to obscure the neighbors' buildings, but the neighbors did not allow this. The trellises are growing with "Ivy Goldchild, Hedera Helix Goldchild." I hope it will survive the winter; it was freshly planted after all.
Also, I got the urge to build another house. Closer to Leipzig, smaller and suitable for the elderly/disabled, or directly on a lake. We'll see.
