We can build raised beds ourselves. My materials are only at my parents' house and in a carpentry workshop in the drying room. Due to the lockdown, they are unreachable. And there is no time. We are allowed and have to work. Child at home and the parents need help. The landscape gardener is intended for the next garden section (orchard). Build walls, fill up, set shaft for sewer connection.

This year I want to grow vegetables for the first time. For this, I have already created beds "without digging." Simply lay out cardboard, which is supposed to suppress the old grass and weeds, and then a thick layer of compost on top. We still have plenty of that. Meanwhile, I am trying to raise vegetable seedlings myself. Since I am a complete beginner with vegetables, I get all my information from the internet. For example, I first germinate the tomato seeds, and as soon as something shows, I put the tiny sprouts into seed trays and keep them nice and warm. This is the point I am at now. I find everything terribly sensitive and fragile right now. There doesn't seem to be much room between thriving and perishing. Best regards

I am currently busy again in the garden. At the moment, more on the "hardware" side. So the climbing tower of the little one finally needs a proper staircase. The temporary solution is a bit too risky for him to climb up alone. Then I bordered the corner where the play tower stands with wooden palisades, since that's where our slope starts, and it looks a bit tidier this way. Then I have to lay the boundary wire for the robotic mower soon and border the lawn area with granite cubes for that...

Does anyone here perhaps have perennials as a privacy screen? I would like to have perennials as a privacy screen on one side of the garden near the house and yesterday I spent the whole day reading about what would be suitable, but maybe someone has a tip.

The following conditions:
South-facing, so sunny
Loamy sandy soil
Up to 1.80 meters high
Perennial
Winter-hardy
Non-toxic (also for cats)
Bee-friendly
Not self-seeding (I think the neighbor wouldn’t find that very funny)

I would also like to plant several different perennials.

So, the perennial sunflower comes to mind spontaneously, it is perennial, hardy in winter, and depending on the variety can grow really tall, I think mine is about 160cm. It looks like a sunflower with several smaller flowers. In my opinion, it meets all your requirements, although whether it is non-toxic for cats is another matter, I am not informed about that, and despite having 2 cats and a dog, I don't pay attention to that. Regarding the height, you have to consider that depending on wind exposure, support may be necessary. I have it, by the way, also at the neighbor's in the back in the middle of the bed, so to speak in the last row, and I am satisfied with it so far. For that kind of height, I have to pass, though. Up to about 150cm, there is a wider selection of perennials.
