Speaking of flies: those tiny biting midges that attack you immediately and seem to try to get into your mouth, nose, ears, eyes, etc., what are these annoying pests called and what helps against them or where do they come from?

At an online retailer, I just saw daffodils with an 80% discount. Of course... the planting time is actually autumn. My question... is there any way to get the bulbs through the summer without damage, so you can then plant them in the autumn?

Should be fine. Store them in a dark, cool, and dry place. They must not sprout, mold, or rot.

Is there a tree that provides good privacy screening and is also low-maintenance :-) ?

.. loses few leaves, and doesn’t have too much root system, that’s exactly what I’m looking for too
