I am fairly sure that you are at least partially right. But enforcing it the "hard way" will destroy your relationship, and that can escalate badly. I would think carefully before going down that path. Then the neighbors will be watching your every move 24/7 to catch you doing something wrong. If you respond with excessive noise, the neighbor might soon have a PA system on the terrace. Just wait and see; if he already has legal proceedings due to noise disturbance, it should be quiet soon.

Well, that reads as if you have diligently done your homework. I interpret that somewhat as stubbornness, combativeness, and hardening – not good at all!

The other noise disturbance was probably at the previous place of residence. That doesn't help us. Unfortunately, this only concerns our house here. And I interpret that as downplaying a problem that someone else has. That is somewhat disrespectful and lacking empathy, simply saying "oh just live with it, it’s not that bad, don’t make a fuss"... Of course it's not that bad for you. You can probably also sit quietly behind your house.

Uh, sorry. I have probably suggested enough empathy and solutions to your problem here that do not downplay your problem. Not only in this thread, but also in another one, where it was about the construction radio. Only it is not a solution if you make your personal problem, i.e. yours with the perception, a problem of everyone or a guideline. That is NOT the way, even if you see it that way. There is a saying that is frequently used in psychology for good reason: You cannot change others, only yourself. There are also rules for solving a problem: do not make yourself a victim, but speak up. However, that does not include silence and then summoning to court with sharpened knives. And if you yourself are attentive and empathetic, then you also know that I am confronted with neighborhood noise. Only I take different paths or it is possible for me to take these paths to deal with it. I find your post really quite inappropriate now.

I do not intend to do that either. But even in a direct confrontation with more assertiveness, I would like to know the legal situation before having to hear again that I "should accept noise at normal speaking volume." This has nothing to do with preparing to go to court, but when two parties disagree on a topic, they must adhere to the guidelines that exist for this. Reading these as a basis for argumentation is not, in my opinion, preparing for war.

I’m glad if you find it easy to tolerate noise disturbance. I do not find it easy. The only thing I find inappropriate is to assume that others feel the same way you do. I am not saying that you should perceive the noise as bad as I do. But you tell me that I should perceive the noise as little of a problem as you do. And that is the definition of a lack of empathy.

"In court and at sea, we are alone in God's hands." I would now be interested in how this would work in practice. First, an expert must be brought in to make reliable (!) measurements on a Sunday. If the expert determines a volume that is outside the allowed limit, in my opinion, only then can the next step follow, if one wants to take it. (Does this topic actually still belong in a garden chat pictures(!) thread?)
