I'm just teasing you a little. And don't justify yourselves.... whoever wants a fence builds a fence, whoever doesn't, doesn't. Because it is still a free country, despite fff
A fence is for cowards. Brave Vikings live without fences, freedom and all that.
We wouldn’t have the fence if the dog didn’t like to chase. So we defined a small inner area. That way the old guy can at least dash around a bit in front of the house and be off-leash. We can open the patio doors without worrying that the furry nose will run away.
Our fence has been lying in the garage since April. First the birds were nesting, then it was too hot, then a new garden section was created, now it’s too muddy to access. Soon the birds will be nesting again.
looks great. I only know permanent raised beds in round shape, with compost in the middle and stones on the outside.
We are not fundamentalists. It’s about the joy and challenge of growing good food without using chemicals and without depleting the soil. Stone lasts longer than untreated wood. The 3cm thick beams will hold up for a few years. The compost is a bit further away from the house (logistically worse but better odor-wise). We don’t compost organic kitchen waste; it’s fermented in Bokashi buckets with EM.
We already had delicious vegetables in our terraced house. We got hooked years ago by the Ackerhelden where we could learn a lot and participated for 2 years.
