The nice man from the hardware store didn’t want to sell us Blaukorn . At least not for our clay lawn. He sold my husband something from Compo. When he started talking about mowing four days before, then watering, then not watering anymore, etc., I walked away. That’s not for me. At least not in the garden.
This late afternoon the thunderstorm came. The rain stopped and evaporated after 5 minutes. So we have to water today.
So far everything is thriving – except the zucchini.

I first mowed a path around the outside so I could get to the hedge and a flowerbed without having to always trample everything down with the hose. Then the goosefoot from the flower mixture was the first to dominate extremely, so I mowed a few paths across again to give the other plants a chance too. Actually, I didn’t want to do that with the mower; I'm taking a scythe course in mid-July and then want to do without the mower...

Blaukorn is out. That is short-term doping, waste, but has no long-term effect and does not improve the soil That would have been known by the consultant as well.

Karsten advised me this here in the forum. That’s why I also addressed him personally.

Love is being made in our garden right now
Just saw it while having coffee.

Oh, I like hedgehogs! We also have one in winter. In the first year (in the year we moved in) we cut down an old willow in late autumn because it was completely eaten up by the willow worm. And what just barely escaped the chainsaw? A hedgehog! We then overwintered it somewhere else. I wouldn't have thought that they also overwinter in such places, like in a musty wet tree trunk. Thank God my husband discovered it in time.

My grandma always has some too. Currently an old blind hedgehog, which she feeds daily because otherwise it would surely be dead by now.

I am really enjoying our beautiful garden at the moment. And I'm already thinking about new projects, otherwise it would be boring, right^^. My brother and I already have projects in mind for optimizing vegetable and berry cultivation. I was on vacation at the Brandenburg State Garden Show in Wittstock an der Dosse (highly recommended!) and got a lot of inspiration there.
