It's probably due to the weather. 2022 was much hotter and we didn't have a drop from above for 4 months. 2023 was not as extremely hot and there was precipitation from above. I didn't have to water that much. I plant so many varieties because, on the one hand, I am looking for the perfect varieties (taste, location, weather) and, on the other hand, because there is seemingly an endless variety of types that must not disappear.

I see it exactly the same way.. dried-up lawn doesn't stress me at all... I have never watered it either.

Looking for a climbing plant with the following conditions: south-facing but shaded from the afternoon, rather dry, humus-rich, clay soil, no thorns because it is a boundary area and I don't want to upset the neighbors, flowers would be nice. Easy and fast-growing. Does anyone have a tip for me?

: what do you think about a passionflower? That would probably work. Likes sun, but not so much on the trunk. A young plant should ideally be wrapped a little.
