The new pergola is finally standing now.

We are also struggling with lice on the sweet cherry and additionally with birds :mad:


That's why I put the cherry tree in a net. Otherwise, we won't have any cherries again like last year.

We also have a lot of strawberries, about 40 plants. And 2 children plus their visitors are happy.

You have to be careful with the nets. Many are too coarse-meshed and the birds either perish in them or due to injuries.

Strawberry harvest as of today: 26.4 kg o_O Just as a reminder… here’s again a picture (from April) of the area that produces this. These were frigo plants, planted last summer (150 pieces). They already yielded a small late harvest back then. So currently the 2nd growing year.

I also put a net around the currant bush. However, I used a blue one on purpose so it would be easily seen. Mesh size 2.5. I will probably wrap the raspberry as well, the rest can be eaten - the serviceberries are almost completely eaten...
