If you can get it directly from the dealer anyway, just ask him!

That fits, you will need about 13 bags. You can mix in stones or gravel if available, otherwise just pure. Hope you have a mixing aid, otherwise your arms will get quite tired soon, but it is doable manually as well. In my opinion, you could have made the foundation a bit narrower, but better safe than sorry.

On the topic of winter trips: What do you think one should do with children in kindergarten / elementary school age at home for weeks during awful weather? I find the current discussion simply pathetic and misanthropic. Accusing families now because they want to go on a trip is cheeky and can only come from politicians / childless people who live in their own bubble.

It is not about children or being childless. Do you think we lock our children away? It is about the lack of consideration. There are violations of so many laws and regulations beyond Corona.

Thank you very much. in [Hessen] everything is closed off even for locals. It won’t be long and we won’t be allowed to go anywhere anymore.

We almost never have snow, none at all last winter, this winter at least 2 days. In front of our door there is neither snow nor anything to sled on. But we don’t take trips to the mountains either, that’s too crowded for me. My children also go to emergency care until about 2-3 p.m. depending on how I have to work, thankfully I have that entitlement. Otherwise I would go crazy. And here the 15 km rule from the doorstep applies, we live in a big city, within 15 km I can only get to places where inevitably many other people are. Not to mention the parks. Due to lack of alternatives, everyone in urban areas now goes to the same spots... After work I then have to teach my schoolchild and keep my daycare child entertained on the side, so on weekdays there’s no chance to go out much. But on weekends.... well, what else can you do.

Winniefred, there is nothing wrong with going out on the weekend as a city dweller. The question is why you have to go to the well-known hotspots. There are dozens of other, also nice and fun options, and sledding is not necessarily required to experience something outdoors. If you live in an area without snow, then you simply do recreational activities without snow. That works too.

The childcare situation is terrible for working parents - I don’t envy anyone, really. But that doesn’t give anyone a free pass to meet with a thousand others on the Spitzingsee for ice skating or sledding on the weekend.

Numbers again: in the Miesbach district on 6.1., 29 accident victims were admitted to the hospital, which is already struggling under [Corona] and doesn’t know how it will manage to care for the fully occupied intensive care unit. Bone fractures caused by ski tourers, sledders, and ice skaters are not helpful.
