I think

Maybe you also have a neighbor with animals? I can recommend sheep. Small fence - zap, everything short.

hm a toddler-proof fence is at least 80 cm high and ideally offers as few footholds as possible for climbing.
I would probably cover a small pond – so a grid on top, with mesh size small enough that the face can't fit through. And naturally, a bit above the water.

We actually don't want to cover up, we know the points mentioned and the Melabel Teichzaun Light would meet them. We also like it very much and just want to ask around once more if someone possibly has an alternative. At 50€ per linear meter in the raw version, it's not exactly cheap (but from the impression quite "worth the" price).

We have otherwise fenced the garden with double rod panels, but that is a) less flexible and b) also relatively easy to climb over.

Small children cannot be left alone by the pond anyway, even toddlers manage to come up with ways to get over the fence, then they just bring a bucket or chair and climb over it. My little daughter was already able to pull herself up everywhere at a very early age and then climbed over, even her big brother was surprised how she did it. So simply putting a fence around the pond and then leaving the children unattended doesn’t work either. Better to put a grate on the pond surface until the children can really swim.

Best regards Sabine

It is clear that they cannot stay alone and unsupervised in the garden. Besides child protection, the fence is also meant to keep our two dogs out of the pond. They like to go in there in the summer, and the fence could potentially be a danger in that case. The little one will not be alone in the garden for the time being anyway!

But maybe we will take another look at fences; the dogs will then also learn not to go onto them.

Maybe the gardening experts can help me... 2.5 weeks of vacation and the bed was completely overgrown with wild growth; among other things, several of the plants shown in the picture. When they were small, I thought the leaf shape looked like hollyhocks (I have a few of those about 15m away). But the bigger the plants get, the less I believe it.. So, hollyhock or can it go?
