The locksmith finally had a change of heart, and on Thursday, 4.6., all the steel parts finally arrived.

On Friday, we really made good progress again:

The steel parts of the privacy fence were in place and provided a somewhat patchy privacy screen.

The raised beds for the terrace (herbs in front, tomatoes in back) were set up and already filled.

And our large raised bed, which had been waiting for almost two months to be used, could finally be set up and the front yard partially landscaped:

That was already a big step and we are really happy!

The split remains as is? No separation from the earth?

That stays as it is, it's so-called Riesel, meaning very small, round pebbles. On a specially prepared base for that. The edges of the beds will be planted with cushion perennials over time, but it will take a while until it looks nice. But we don’t always like it to be super-precise. We like it very much as it is and the important thing for us was only that we can walk barefoot on it comfortably and that is really very pleasant!
The driveway to the trailer parking space (there will be the wooden terrace over it later) has a special mixture of a perennial granulate with various thyme varieties. So hopefully something will grow there too.

On Monday the wooden parts of the privacy fence arrived and the fence to the street was started. Since the day before yesterday it is also finished and we are quite in love with our front garden:

The privacy wall is finally finished as well and we were able to plant the bed there too:

Now the wooden terrace is still missing, which will then continue into the existing balcony and the stairs from this terrace down into the front garden. And the lighting still has to be done (that's why the cables are still lying everywhere). A few spotlights in the beds and some exterior sockets are planned.
Furthermore, the beds prepared for the perennial mixture (in the pictures the areas with darker granulate and the bed at the end of the privacy fence) still have to be planted with the suitable perennial mix. Our trusted landscaping gardener has mixtures that are very well coordinated and there is always something blooming, very bee-friendly, nice to look at and labor-saving (so made for us! *g*)
And we hope that our house builder will soon have time for the still outstanding terrace and we can gradually finish this topic.

The oven should arrive next week and then we still have the shed behind the carport, where we also want to finish something. But once the terrace is finally finished, summer and its parties may come.

Does the forum have magical powers?

Yesterday the perennial carpenter was here and took the measurements for the terrace - it's supposed to start on Monday

Wow this is really beautifully designed. I love terrace gardens or small gardens in backyards and such, also tiered ones... and your corners and planned asymmetry of the beds and areas are exactly what I find great. It didn’t work out that way with my garden. The necessary fence wall to the neighbor also turned out well. Then again the playful contrast with the picket fence... lovely!
