Where are we headed if we demand the utmost consistency from each other - this creates completely unnecessary social pressure that costs everyone the good of freedom. No one has to do everything 100% consistently, loyally to the line, and unassailable. Why shouldn't a diesel driver buy organic meat? Why shouldn't a passionate cyclist delay replacing a functioning oil heating system? Why should a lawn lover be denied a positive attitude toward environmental protection? Why shouldn’t a “green” person be allowed to build a house? It’s quite a struggle in which soon no one can do anything right anymore because demands are made immediately or the right thing is relativized.

If you don't want to dig out, yes. Water rarely and intensively, cut and fertilize regularly. This way you provide the other grasses with optimal conditions to take the place of weakened [annua]. But I would rather dig out and reseed. How large is your area?

Someone who buys organic meat once in a while is certainly not a "green". A cyclist can also do it as a hobby...

Someone who votes green shares (at least mostly) the party's views. And exactly in this context, the wasting of resources by a single-family house is just as inappropriate as air travel for vacation reasons.
I demand nothing. Everyone has to decide for themselves. Unfortunately, most voters are not that reflective or aware of the consequences. Alone the price increases and weakening of the economy is/are/will be dramatic.
When there are more unemployed, the outcry is loud... Others are then to blame again.
In the ultimate consequence, it would mean giving up having children. But no one dares to say that publicly.
We cannot save the world as long as India, China... do not cooperate. Even if we "disappear" Germany, the effect would not be sufficient. We can only make a small contribution. But destroying ourselves because of that is not sensible.

I stand by the fact that I do not have a small ecological footprint. Surely I try to optimize here and there but in certain areas I am not willing to make sacrifices.

It's funny that the majority of green voters today belong to the middle class and often own a single-family house.
Preach water and drink wine. (Environment minister Untersteller caught speeding at 177 km/h in a 120 km/h zone, Kretschmann’s S-Class, they could all walk or ride a bike (without a battery), Baerbock’s secondary income, etc.)

to remove Annua by mowing you have to go down to -1- -5 cm :p Annua tolerates cutting heights below one cm without any problems. You can only reach that low with cylinder mowers.

It's a pity that I can only give 1 like.

A garden is for everyone. Lawn is dead land for the insect world, for children, for example, a valuable play area. There is lawn (well, sort of) and forsythia in my garden, too.
With almost every plant, it's questioned whether it can cope with the weather, whether it's good for bees or birds, deadwood and such. Still, for some things, the question is whether we like it, whether it's good for us.

There are so many ways to save water, energy, plastic, to protect bees and preserve biodiversity. Everyone can do quite a lot without personal restrictions. Why always the extremes?
