These updates must also be possible with a completely ordinary carport... For example, if you want a roof that can be opened or closed as needed, that might possibly be rainproof, etc. A normal cheap carport can quickly reach its limits there. I also don't find a carport as a terrace roof all that great if the terrace is directly on the house. The carport stands on 4 little legs - if the terrace is at the house and is to be covered there, usually two legs are enough, the other side is attached to the house wall. The completely ordinary DIY store carport is not designed for that either. Also regarding the slope of the roof: the completely ordinary carport will have a slight roof pitch along its length - for the terrace, you will rather need it the other way around.

Something else: IT IS SPRING!!!

I buried hundreds of bulbs in autumn and I am quite excited about what will come!

Has anyone of you relocated their own plants to the new garden and have any tips?

I now have a 250 sqm garden at the house of my rental apartment and want to take my cherry trees (they are still small, 160 cm tall) with me (and some shrubs, etc.).

I have already read a bit about it, but maybe someone here has done it too?

I have moved: my peony, a currant bush, some lady's mantle, Christmas rose, daylily and columbines, and a broom that already had an unfavorable location there. The broom survived the winter season well in the pot and enjoyed the fresh soil, but as it looks, it didn’t manage the final planting at its target location. Let's see if it surprises me after all in spring, but I rather doubt it.

With a heavy heart, I parted from my dearly beloved roses, but the probability that they won’t survive the transplanting is higher. Especially since my roses have been allowed to dig into the soil as deep-rooted plants for over 10 years.

The cherry tree will, I think, be critical. How long has it been there already? After one or two years you can maybe dare it, otherwise I would refrain from it and rather buy a new one. Shrubs are relatively robust - at least my currant bushes have moved several times.

You have been in for two years now, I also have a thousand raspberries, I think they should be easy too, they grow everywhere like absolute "weeds" :D

thank you for your assessment. I will try and hope.

I happened to discover this kitchen garden once during a walk and will copy it for our new home. I think it just looks beautiful, with the round shapes. However, I still need to determine whether it fits our square house.

Pretty, but impractical. At the wide spot, you can only reach the middle of the bed if you step into it – so possibly more and narrower beds should be made, and I would also design these as raised beds.

And tomatoes without rain protection? Unfortunately, that wouldn't yield a good harvest here, but there may be more favorable climate zones for that.
