The front door is right next to the garage entrance if you mirror it. You drive the car in and walk 3m to the door. So that can't be the problem.
If I only mirror it, yes, but if I additionally rotate the garage (see screenshot), as discussed with , then of course the front door is significantly further away from the garage door/driveway. I think we have been talking past each other here.
Or are you really complaining about 6m more driveway to be paved in a house construction costing over 300K?
What bothers me less is the 6m driveway that I might have to pave more, than that I create about 60m² of unusable space next to the garage on the west side, which then adds up with the additionally paved area to about 100m².
We wanted to make this space usable by rotating the garage 90 degrees, as the driveway would then be significantly smaller.
But I also think that mirroring with the garage facing south is the better option. The resulting space in the west must then be used for raised beds, greenhouse, composter, garbage bins... whatever.
