However, as I said, I wouldn't know what else could really come out of it, since we have set clear premises regarding the front door, stairs, kitchen, orientation ... which all work. I don't see any solution regarding a "rotated" garage that would bring the front door closer to the driveway again, even with a new plan.

These are the kind of statements that totally confuse me. "The front door should be closer to the driveway." Huh? The front door is right next to the garage driveway if you mirror it. You drive the car in and walk 3m to the door. So that can't be the problem.

If you have agreed with the neighbors on a 7m minimum distance from the boundary, then the 7m is of course the minimum distance up to the garden gate. It can't be otherwise.

You don't want the garage in the north and the house further south because then it's too close to the street.

If mirroring is okay for you, then everything has been said, right? Or are you really whining about 6m more driveway to be paved in a house construction costing over 300K?

With a new planning, the question for me would clearly be whether to place the living space to the south in a row - making the house narrower and longer, and possibly allowing the garage in the north as a boundary construction. Possibly also slightly offset. However, I haven't followed how the neighbors feel about boundary construction.

If I only mirror it, yes, but if I additionally rotate the garage (see screenshot), as discussed with , then of course the front door is significantly further away from the garage door/driveway. I think we have been talking past each other here.

What bothers me less is the 6m driveway that I might have to pave more, than that I create about 60m² of unusable space next to the garage on the west side, which then adds up with the additionally paved area to about 100m².
We wanted to make this space usable by rotating the garage 90 degrees, as the driveway would then be significantly smaller.

But I also think that mirroring with the garage facing south is the better option. The resulting space in the west must then be used for raised beds, greenhouse, composter, garbage bins... whatever.

I think you mean Kerstin (kbt09), right? I already searched through the entire thread for what you supposedly discussed with 11ant – it confused me earlier. I can hardly follow you anymore because you mix and twist so much. I find the orientation of the garage facing south stupid because you always have to make a turn to get in. That means you have to pave much more since your car has a considerable turning radius. Or could I not follow you again?

I agree with you, the main actor was , although the topic was also touched on with (e.g. #64) and therefore I had the wrong person in mind.

I should have done that before the mirroring (original floor plan post #1), as the garage is also oriented to the south there. Therefore, orienting it to the west would save a lot of paving and space, but as a result the front door would be in an unfavorable position, which, in my opinion, cannot be resolved.

Sorry if I confuse you, I always have many thoughts in my head, but mostly cannot communicate them in a way that everyone understands, because I assume a lot that the other person cannot possibly know.

As said, I would consider placing the garage as a boundary building behind the house. It would then be narrower (6m), but longer for the garden stuff. House entrance in the north. Driveway pink. The rest is garden.

Here roughly indicated:
