During the construction phase, we had wild bees on an edge of the excavation pit. A "friendly" future neighbor called the district office directly and reported it. An apiarist appointed by the district came without our knowledge and then collected the bees at our expense and released them again in a forest in a nature reserve. Well... it cost us 350 EUR. A specially protected species. If we had removed them ourselves (in case we got caught), the maximum penalty could have been imposed: 50,000 EUR  Some kind of sand bee. The apiarist included the species identification with the bill. I told him, if I have to pay for that nonsense anyway, I also want to know who has been occupying my construction pit :p A friendly apiarist confirmed this to us back then as well, but he could have caught and released the bees for us without the payment being necessary. After I knew what rare little creatures the apiarist had collected here, I was totally happy! But the nice neighbor could have at least informed us beforehand. After I told him what that fun cost us, all the color drained from his face. I think he believed he would even get a medal from the district for reporting such rare animals :D
