Why use a program for this – take a rope and mark out the areas. Then buy wood and start with the first bed. Already after the first raised bed, you’ll see how it will look, and you are free in the dimensions. The material cost in € is low, the required craftsmanship is manageable, and the result is very satisfying. Useful are a miter saw, a powerful cordless screwdriver, rigid Torx screws, and strong wood for the sides. That keeps everything permanently stable and straight. Stay away from construction plans that suggest screwing into end grain wood; that won’t last long. The stiffer the construction, the better.

A depth of 120 cm is often suggested for beds, whether raised beds, frames, or normal. Try it out beforehand. I find 120 cm too deep for myself.

Has anyone here ever used a carport as a terrace roof? (3x6m?)

thanks for the tip. Sometimes the simple things are so close. I will try that right away.

No, it shouldn’t be that high. More like 30 to 50 cm. To be precise, it probably isn’t really a raised bed, but just a bed high enough so that our dog doesn’t mark the flowers and herbs first, and it simply visually loosens things up a bit with different levels. I saw in a picture that you can simply set palisade stones in concrete. About 20 cm into the ground in concrete and 40 cm sticking out. I’ll add a photo.

Then it’s no longer a carport. ;) Of course it works, it’s done the other way around as well.

These elongated strips should not grow tall, as mentioned 30 or 40. The "square" a bit higher, by about 10 cm. A Japanese maple or something similar should go there. Alternatively, herbs that can nicely crawl over the step. Or do you have better ideas? At the moment, I am a bit overwhelmed trying to envision the basis for a nicely designed garden from an empty plot.
