That's brilliant! I'll ask around to see what is available here! I hope we have such exchanges, that would be great. My family has already started growing cuttings for us. My mother has 3 cuttings from a stock bale that have taken root, and my sister says she will pot some of her oaks for me so I can plant them here. Oaks are very typical trees here; there was even an "Eichbaum Beer" once, from this area.

I like oaks a lot and would also like to have one, but they just grow way too big. I would always plant trees as far away from the house as they grow.

She also potted us a walnut tree cutting. Those are also very beautiful trees, but they also grow very large. I am already thinking about where we could plant them.

Not only big, they also lose their leaves in autumn/winter and create a lot of "waste." They do look nice, though.
Our neighbors also have one about 2-3 meters from our fence. Now it nicely shades our tomatoes and also serves as a certain privacy screen. But we are still glad that it is not on our property.

Is it allowed to plant them so close with you? Here in BW, an 8m distance from the property line is required for the walnut tree. That alone actually makes large trees impossible. Nevertheless, the development plan is full of that stuff in planting list 1...

I suspect "grandfathering." It has been there for several years and the previous owner didn’t care. It was just a "wild garden" before our time.
The current owners had already thought about removing it. It doesn’t bother us. And it is regularly trimmed back in autumn.
If necessary, I also help our neighbor with it.
