started with our Benjes / deadwood corner.

We don't have a "real Benjes hedge," but a few such deadwood piles. They are a palace for many small animals like hedgehogs, mice, birds, and insects.
I - and all the hedgehogs, mice, birds, and insects - am glad that there are "people like you."

….hay potatoes.. first attempt this year.

The first attempt was successful. Today I harvested 1.2 kg of the finest potatoes from one plant in the hay.. variety “Anabelle”

A little bit has also changed for me in terms of planting

What are you doing with the little boards there? In my opinion, there should have been a curb stone or at least some minimal insertion limit.

well, the property partly belongs to the municipality (about 10-15cm). That's why I have refrained from fixing the fence at the moment. The little boards are just there so the critters don’t spread the pine mulch everywhere (it’s not in yet ...). Possibly, I will fix the boards with ground spikes, but probably not more than that. When the lavender has grown big and strong, it won't need a boundary anymore. The edge (to keep or channel water away from the property) is right behind it.

We also quickly spread some grass yesterday evening. Let's hope the sparrows leave a bit more seeds this time... :oops:
