Yes, very cool. Are they winter-hardy?

So-so hardy. There are hardy varieties (the yellow and blue ones, I believe) that can overwinter outside. Then you have to wrap them a little frost-protectively. But not very much. Mine survived it, but we didn't have a winter here either.

My wife loves wisteria. It loves sun and nutrient-rich soils, is winter-hardy. Possible exclusions: - not native - somewhat toxic - can grow very large

Wisteria is great! But it really grows like crazy. If you don't want that or don't have space, then you have to prune.

We have a rather old wisteria. It’s hell. It seems to root within a 5m radius, where hardly anything else grows well that can’t cope with the root pressure. It grows practically overnight and tries to form its own jungle.

How tall should it be? Wild pea (Lathyrus sylvestris) if about 2m is enough.

Common clematis (Clematis Vitalba), if it should grow taller.

Then something is also done for nature.
