Finally finished the seating area in the garden over the weekend. After I was initially confronted with reality quite quickly with 250kg of marble grit and carried another 900kg in sacks, only the right warmth is missing.

Isn't that rather a lying surface??

A little preview of summer for me - my tomato cultivation shows first successes:

I always find it amazing how such tiny seeds and delicate seedlings become huge plants within one season.

By the way: hands off the CompoSana seed starting soil. I wanted to use a branded product and the result: the stuff is infested with lacewings! Now I have to order nematodes to get the infestation under control.

Yes, true… somehow like a hammock.

I still have two bean bags and a fire bowl that are actually supposed to go there, then it will be more of a place to sit :) The hammock is just a placeholder for now, but will be moved to another spot in the long run.

Aren't they good against aphids, I thought? Much worse are fungus gnats, I once had them when I bought a plant from the organic herb mail order. I also got nematodes from the company Sautter and Stepper from the region and later ladybugs against aphids. But they were blown away in all directions on my balcony, money was wasted

Yes, lacewings are actually beneficial insects, says my wife. Fungus gnats are in the soil

We saw this pretty plant in our hotel complex on Kos. The flowers feel straw-like/dry. I searched the internet for it and found nothing. Maybe someone here knows what it is…? Best regards, Steffi
